The first phase of the ongoing citizen science project MY-CO BUILD will be completed the evening of Friday 28 January 2021 with a digital live session streamed from Berlin.

The project’s goal is to explore the use of fungal composite materials as replacement of cement and other less sustainable construction materials.

In a 4 days mycology and mycofabrication course, artists, designers, architects and general mushroom enthusiasts co-created fungal blocks, with the goal of building a big structure.

The event consists of a 1.30 hours dynamic discussion led by Vera Meyer (Biotechnology Professorin) and Sven Pfeiffer (Professor and architect).
